We were visiting our son in Brisbane and staying in the cbd. I googled breakfast places and I’m so impressed! The food (avo toast and salmon in sourdough) was delicious. My matcha latte was excellent- not sweet at all. Service was excellent and I highly recommend Strauss.
We stopped in for an early breakfast, and had a great experience. The food was very good, the service was good also. But keep in mind they get pretty busy so expect a little wait. There is limited seating inside but they do have some tables in the alleyway. My wife said this is the best earl gray tea she has had since we have been in Brisbane.

The scrambled eggs with avocado were delicious as was the poached eggs with smoked salmon. Presentation and taste was excellent. Lovely cosy little spot for breakfast.
A very cute and comfortable place hidden back here with nice and accomodating staff! Came in with a big group and they very quickly made a spot for us and set us up. Food and drinks were quick and delicious!
This is the BEST chicken sourdough I've ever had in brisbane!! I asked the kind and friendly staffs to swap the smoked salmon for chicken breast on the sourdough and it was such a wonderful surprise - absolutely stunning🥹. The chicken was so juicy & tender, and the poached egg blended perfectly with the crispy, chewy sourdough and creamy labneh. I also had a chicken bagel for takeaway, which was perfectly toasted and outstandingly aromatic. The filling and sauces were still incredible, though it was a little salty overall. Beyond the amazing food, the chef and all of the staff were very attentive, providing an exceptionally warm service ☺️♡.
Such a warm & cozy little cafe that’s tucked away in a little alcove, off the proverbial beaten path. Unpretentious and charming, the small but well considered menu is proof that it’s the quality and not the quantity that counts. The staff are welcoming, the service is great & the food is thoughtfully prepared. We loved their press juices, coffees & food. We ordered the Croissant with Ham, Croissant with Bacon & their Bagel Special which were all delicious!
